Red Beans with Rice
Ingredients
½ cup of White rice
2 Cloves of garlic, chopped
½ Onion, chopped
½ Green bell pepper
1 teaspoon of Dried thyme
½ teaspoon of Sweet paprika
⅓ teaspoon of Ground black pepper
1 pinch of Salt
1 pinch of Cayenne pepper
1 Bay leaf
400 grams of Red beans
1 cup of Vegetable broth
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare this delicious dish, cook the rice following the package instructions and set aside.
Step 2 : In a pot, add a little oil and vegetable broth or water.
Step 3 : When hot, add the vegetables (garlic, onion, and green bell pepper) and cook them over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes or until golden.
Step 4 : Add the spices and herbs (thyme, paprika, pepper, salt, cayenne, and bay leaf) to the pot.
Step 5 : Incorporate the beans and the vegetable broth or water.
Step 6 : Stir well and cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes.
Step 7 : To thicken the stew, you can blend part of the preparation with an immersion blender, fork, or potato masher.
