100 grams of Red lentils
750 milliliters of Water
½ teaspoon of Turmeric powder
⅓ teaspoon of Ground cumin powder
2 Tomatoes
1 Handful of chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon of Tablespoon of olive oil
½ teaspoon of Salt
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare the lentil soup, first wash the lentils and soak them for two hours.
Step 2 : In a high heat pot, place the drained lentils with three cups of water, adding a teaspoon of turmeric.
Step 3 : Cook for 15 minutes, then add peeled and chopped tomatoes, mixing well, and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 4 : In a separate skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil with a third of a teaspoon of ground cumin, stirring for 10 seconds, then add this mixture to the lentil soup.
Step 5 : Finally, add chopped cilantro and the soup is ready to serve.
